Jeg's Allstars winner!
Chicago went very well in the Allstar race as Mark was able to score a
victory in the prestigious event. The special event has one person
from each of the 7 divisions of the country who have earned the most
points the previous year at certain races, plus the winner of last
year's event. It was a great race and Mark was able to come out on top.

This season has started a little slowly, but a runner up at the IHRA
national in Baton Rouge, and a win at the Lucas Oil race in Boise have
definitely helped.

One major setback however was blowing up the Grand Am engine in
Fontana May 15th. Luckily I had a spare in the trailer and installed
it to continue on.

One more person who deserves a special thank you in "Golf Cart" Jerry
Calloway. He's fixed a lot of broken stuff for me while I'm gone, and
helped repair my hoist that broke in Topeka. So off to Brainerd, then
Chicago, and home for a few weeks.

Mark is proud to announce he will be a contributor
to www.bracketracingnw.com, writing a blog and answering questions
about what life is like as a professional sportsman racer.

Things cooled off after the success at the Sonoma national event. But
still managed to finish 3rd in the NW Division in Stock and 4th in
Super Stock.

Old News:
After a somewhat slow start to the season, racing has been great
lately for Mark! In April, Mark won the Jeg's Sportsnationals in
Fontana, CA in Super Stock to go back to back at that event. Then
things cooled off for awhile, but rebounded nicely with a win in Stock
June 19-21at Seattle.

The following weekend at the Bremerton National Open, Mark won
Saturday and was runner up Sunday in the trusty ElCamino.
July 10-12, at Woodburn, Mark got to the final round in Super Stock,
but unfortunately it rained out. The final round will be completed in
Las Vegas in November.

The Seattle national event was a disappointment with early exits in
both, but the following week in Sonoma was fantastic, with a victory
in Super Stock and a semi final finish in Stock. Thought we might see
a double for awhile!

Hopefully this momentum will continue through the rest of the season,
and put the cars in more winner's circles!

By going to the fifth round at the Lucas Oil Series event in Las Vegas, Mark clinched the division 7 Stock championship, as well as placing 5th in the national points standings. This is his first championship in Stock, to go with 4 division championships in Super Stock.

Things have continued to go well at MarkFaulRacing since coming home, with only one engine failure setback. In August, Mark won the Thursday race in Boise at the Nightfire in the Chevelle in pro bracket, but unfortunately spun a rod bearing the next day. Thank you to Dick Vandermeer, who graciously loaned Mark his Nova to finish the event.
The next week at the big bracket race in Seattle, Aaron and Del Marcum loaned Mark a beautiful dragster to run in Super Pro. It was a fun ride, but no money.

After repairing the Chevelle engine, the next race was the divisional event in Bakersfield, where Mark scored a runner up in the Chevelle, and now leads the division 7 points standings.

The biggest story happened on October 6th at the Sportsnationals in Fontana, where Mark won in Super Stock and was runner up in Stock! Big thank yous to Mike Judson from Mickey Thompson Tires, Jody Lang, Brad Plourd and Fred Moreno, who all helped keep air in the Chevelle tire that had a puncture that wouldn't quit leaking.
